Police officer Christopher Spence sentenced to community service for supermarket theft.
A 44-year-old police officer, Christopher Spence, was sentenced to an 18-month community order and 150 hours of unpaid work for stealing food items from a Lidl supermarket in Bideford, Devon. Spence, who was off-duty and caught on CCTV, has been suspended from his job and faces misconduct proceedings. Superintendent Toby Davies assured the community that such actions are rare and do not reflect the values of local officers.
