Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer Henry Chapman arrested, charged with embezzlement, and placed on unpaid leave for allegedly stealing from a detainee.

A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer, Henry Chapman, was arrested and charged with one count of embezzlement after allegedly stealing property from a person in custody. The officer, who has been with the department since 2009, was placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation. The incident has been called "deeply disappointing" by CMPD Police Chief Johnny Jennings.
