Dumisani Lindani Mpofu, 43, from Fairbridge, Bulawayo, has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly attacking police officer Lungelo Sibanda, 28. The incident occurred when Sibanda ordered the closure of a beer outlet for regulatory violations. Mpofu reportedly struck Sibanda with an axe on the forehead during an argument. He pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to return to court on September 20.
