South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has implemented the ANC resolution to move state-owned enterprises (SOEs) such as Eskom, Safcol, SAA, and Transnet from the dissolved Department of Public Enterprises to their respective line ministries. This decision was made during the ANC's December 2022 conference. The National State Enterprises Bill is being finalized to establish the exercise of shareholder responsibility for respective SOEs in a phased manner.
