Ancient Olympia officials oppose the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) session relocation from their historic town to a coastal resort in Messinia region, Greece. The session in March aims to appoint a successor to IOC President Thomas Bach. While Ancient Olympia lacks the necessary infrastructure, Greek Olympic officials hope to include the site in the four-day meetings, but regional governor Nektarios Farmakis sees it as a missed opportunity.
