The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has conditionally approved the French Alps as the host of the 2030 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, with French President Emmanuel Macron committing to underwrite all organizational guarantees. The IOC's decision is contingent on Macron signing a document to guarantee funding and security commitments by October 1. France last hosted a Winter Olympics in 1992.
