2 Montana men charged for unlawful brown bear killing in Alaska Peninsula National Wildlife Refuge.

2 Montana men, Richard McAtee and Arlon Franz, have been charged with violating the Lacey Act by allegedly killing a brown bear in Alaska's Alaska Peninsula National Wildlife Refuge during an unauthorized time. The men, who face up to 5 years in prison and a $100,000 fine, are accused of conspiring to possess and transport the bear outside the legal hunting season in May 2022.
