39-year-old Massachusetts man, Adam Bied, has been charged with federal crimes for allegedly trafficking body parts of endangered and protected wildlife from Africa and Asia to sell to US buyers, using deceptive shipping labels. Bied faces two counts of conspiracy and three counts of violating the Lacey Act, which bans the illegal trafficking of animals and plants. Over 100 wildlife parts, including those of endangered species such as orangutans, tigers, and polar bears, are listed in the forfeiture complaint.
