A Trinidad, Colorado man was cited for a Class 2 misdemeanor after shooting at a bear and her cubs, killing two cubs while claiming he was protecting his chickens. Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) captured the third cub for release into a more suitable habitat, while the mother bear escaped. CPW warned that the man's actions endangered human life and property, with fines ranging from $100 to $1,000 for the violation.
