Illinois Governor JB Pritzker signed a law banning mandatory anti-union meetings for workers.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has signed the "Worker Freedom of Speech Act" into law, banning employers from forcing workers to attend anti-union meetings. This legislation, which received mostly Democratic support, prohibits mandatory meetings discussing religious, political, or anti-union views, and allows workers who believe they have been unfairly retaliated against for not attending such meetings to take their employers to court. Violations can result in fines of up to $1,000 per instance. Similar legislation is being considered in other states.
