Illinois lawmakers approve bills protecting warehouse workers, nursing home residents, and reforming police conduct.

Illinois lawmakers have approved three bills to protect workers and residents. One bill, House Bill 2547, will protect warehouse workers from being fired for missing quotas due to necessary breaks. It requires employers to provide written descriptions of quotas and any changes. Another, House Bill 2474, protects nursing home residents from retaliation if they report violations. Lastly, House Bill 4410 requires police to establish policies to prevent officers from engaging in sexual activity with people under investigation for prostitution. These bills need Governor JB Pritzker's approval to become law.
