Nepal's Supreme Court convicted former Home Minister Govinda Raj Joshi of corruption, sentencing him to nine months in prison and fining him Rs 6.9 million. The case first landed in a Special Court in 2004, taking over two decades to reach a final verdict. Joshi, a Nepali Congress leader, was convicted in relation to a corruption case in 2012, and had filed an appeal challenging his conviction in 2013.
