Former Nepalese Deputy PM Rabi Lamichhane granted bail in $1 billion cooperative fraud case.

Nepal's Rupandehi District Court has ordered the release of former Deputy Prime Minister Rabi Lamichhane on bail in a cooperative fraud case. Lamichhane, founder of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party, is accused of embezzling over 1 billion Nepali rupees from the Swarnalakshmi Cooperative, involving 38 accomplices. The case includes charges of organized financial crimes and misappropriation of funds from other cooperatives.
