Former Indian police chief Kuldeep Sharma convicted for 1984 assault, faces three months jail.
A former Superintendent of Police in India, Kuldeep Sharma, has been convicted for a 1984 misconduct case involving the assault and wrongful confinement of a Congress leader.
The Bhuj Sessions Court sentenced Sharma to three months in jail and fined him Rs 1,000.
The court also sentenced a former police inspector, GH Vasavada, to the same term and fine.
Both were found guilty under the Indian Penal Code.
