Minister for Justice Helen McEntee announced faster processing times for international protection applicants from Jordan, following a similar measure for Nigeria. This expansion of a prioritisation system aims to speed up the asylum application process for the top two countries of origin with the highest number of applicants in the previous three months. The number of asylum applications from Jordan has increased significantly in 2024.
