1,792 deportation orders issued for asylum seekers in Ireland, a 140% increase in a year.
In Ireland, deportation orders for asylum seekers surged by 140% from 746 to 1,792 over the past year. Justice Minister Helen McEntee reported that fast-track processing for asylum applications has led to a significant decline in applications, particularly from designated "safe" countries, down 70%. Voluntary departures have also risen sharply. The government plans to utilize chartered flights for deportations and has suspended visa-free travel for certain refugees.
