New EU product safety rules in December will reportedly deter GB retailers from selling to Northern Ireland due to their complexity and cost. The rules, combined with the operational customs border and Phytosanitary border, are said to increasingly restructure Northern Ireland's economic life into an all-Ireland economy subject to EU laws. DUP MPs warn that online sellers are already pulling out of the NI market due to these regulations.
