Tennessee and Arkansas have secured a $393m federal grant to build a new Interstate 55 bridge over the Mississippi River, replacing the existing 75-year-old bridge. The U.S. Department of Transportation is providing the funding, with Arkansas and Tennessee each contributing around $250m. The new bridge, known as America's River Crossing, will strengthen Memphis' logistics hub prominence and connect the community with the region and the world.
