FEMA and Tennessee allocate $10.77 million to rebuild bridges destroyed by Hurricane Helene.

FEMA and the State of Tennessee have allocated $10.77 million to rebuild two bridges in Carter County, Tennessee, destroyed by flooding from Hurricane Helene. The Poga Bridges, each 230 feet long, were washed out during the 1957 hurricane. FEMA will cover $3.5 million for each bridge, with an additional $1.07 million for emergency measures. In Greene County, FEMA has also approved $4.6 million to rebuild the Easterly Bridge, submerged in the same storm. Both counties initially received $1 million in emergency funds.
