South Carolina receives $175m federal funding to replace 1968 I-95 bridges over Lake Marion.

South Carolina has been awarded $175 million in federal funding to replace four bridges on Interstate 95 (I-95) over Lake Marion, which were built in 1968. This is one of the largest federal discretionary grant awards ever received by the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT). The project aims to reduce highway congestion, improve safety, and enhance coastal evacuation capabilities during major hurricanes.
