The $3.6bn Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project in Kentucky and Ohio receives federal environmental approval, advancing it to the design and construction phase.

The $3.6bn Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project in Kentucky and Ohio has cleared a final hurdle and could formally break ground in the coming months, following federal environmental approval. The U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT) announced that the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) have passed a comprehensive environmental review, which means the project can now move to the design and construction phase. The project, set to be completed without tolls, addresses one of the worst truck bottlenecks in the nation, improving safety and travel on an interstate connection that carries over $400bn worth of freight every year.
