Malaysian Transport Minister announces 17,000 VEP application backlog to be cleared in 2-3 weeks due to surged applications after enforcement announcement.

Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that the backlog of 17,000 Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) applications will be cleared in two to three weeks. The backlog occurred due to a surge in applications after the announcement that the permits would be enforced from October 1. To address the issue, the ministry has increased personnel for applications and added RFID tag card linking from August 1.
