Malaysia uses signs to alert Singapore drivers of traffic summonses at Johor checkpoints.

Malaysia is now using variable message signs at Johor checkpoints to notify Singapore-registered vehicle owners with Vehicle Entry Permits (VEP) of any outstanding summonses. Over 20,000 vehicles have been checked, with reminders sent to a few hundred owners. Singapore cars can still enter Johor without VEP, but those not applying will receive warnings. A Singapore association member suggests setting up a one-stop center in Singapore for VEP matters.
