4,227 animal and plant products, including turtle skulls, crocodile skins, kangaroo meat, and exotic butterflies, have been seized at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) since October 2023, violating wildlife laws and international endangered species conventions. The items were discovered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, agriculture specialists, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service officials in coordination.
