6 Donegal fishermen were rescued after their trawler, Sainte Catherine Laboure, sank off the Scottish coast. The 25-meter vessel, based in Greencastle, went down while fishing for haddock near the Rockall Bank. The crew activated an emergency beacon before scrambling onto a life raft. A Scottish fishing vessel, Good Hope, recovered the crew before the trawler sank. The Scottish Fishery Patrol Vessel JURA also remained nearby.
