8 fishermen rescued after boat sank 36 miles NE of Shetland; crew used lifeboats, flown to Sumburgh Airport uninjured.

Eight fishermen were rescued after their boat sank 36 miles north-east of Shetland. The vessel began taking in water and the crew used lifeboats to abandon ship. A Coastguard helicopter from Shetland and a Norwegian helicopter were sent to rescue the crew, who were flown to Sumburgh Airport and found to be safe and uninjured. The Lerwick Lifeboat was sent to recover life rafts and alert beacons.
