Wholesale sales in Canada increased 2.4% in April, reaching $83.3bn, according to Statistics Canada. The motor vehicle and motor vehicle parts and accessories subsector saw the highest jump, rising 10.2% to $14.6bn. The increase occurred across five of the seven subsectors, contributing to an overall improvement in the Canadian economy. In volume terms, wholesale sales rose by 2.0% in April.
