Canada's manufacturing sales increased 0.7% in February to $71.6bn, driven by higher sales of petroleum and coal products, which rose 4.3% to $8.7bn. The growth was observed in 13 of the 21 subsectors tracked by the agency. Sales of electrical equipment, appliances, and components also increased by 12.6% to a record $1.5bn. In contrast, wholesale sales, excluding petroleum and other hydrocarbons, remained relatively unchanged at $82.2bn. However, in volume terms, wholesale sales rose 0.2%.
