84-year-old glider pilot Henry Swayze from Vermont was rescued from a tree in White Mountain National Forest, Benton, New Hampshire, after crashing his plane. Swayze had difficulty maintaining altitude during his return flight from Canon Mountain and hit a downdraft, causing the crash. He used his cell phone to text 911 for help, and rescuers reached him around 6:55 p.m. using a pulley and harness system.
