Steven H. Kretsinger, a 65-year-old pilot from Eugene, Oregon, died on October 3 during a crash at George Felt Airport in Roseburg. After running out of runway on his first landing attempt, he circled back but then bounced off the ground, struck a tree, and nosedived. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident.
