The Warburton Environment Group has taken the Victorian government's Forest Fire Management unit to the Federal Court over the death of an endangered greater glider found crushed near a firebreak in the Yarra Ranges National Park. The group alleges that the trees containing the greater gliders were destroyed in contravention of environment laws, and seeks orders prohibiting the logging of habitat trees in all Victorian state forests and national parks.
