NSW EPA revises SSBCs to strengthen Greater Glider protections, requiring a 25-meter logging exclusion zone around trees housing them.
The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has revised site-specific biodiversity conditions (SSBCs) to strengthen protections for endangered Greater Gliders, requiring Forestry Corporation of NSW (FCNSW) to establish a 25-metre logging exclusion zone around any tree housing a Greater Glider during search and survey. This is in addition to the existing exclusion zone protecting trees with known Greater Glider dens. Amendments also clarify requirements for nocturnal search and survey methods.
