Despite a recent decline in quantity, China remains New Zealand's top milk powder destination. In the year ended April 2024, milk powder exports to China increased 987% in value and 1,004% in quantity compared to the year ended April 2008. China received 30% of New Zealand's milk powder exports, and milk powder made up 14% of the country's total export value, making it the largest export commodity.
