Colin Pitchfork, convicted child killer and rapist, faces a public parole hearing in July.

Colin Pitchfork, a double child killer and rapist, will face a public parole hearing in July. Pitchfork was sentenced to life imprisonment after raping and killing two 15-year-old girls in Leicestershire in 1983 and 1986. Parole Board hearings are typically private, but recent changes in the law allow for public hearings in certain circumstances. The decision was made in the "interests of justice", according to Parole Board chairwoman Caroline Corby.
