Bald Head Island experienced a structure fire on May 3 near N Bald Head Wynd and Stede Bonnet Wynd. Public safety crews, including Southport and Oak Island Fire Departments, responded, with Duke Energy planning to shut off power to the entire island to aid in firefighting efforts. The fire has been contained, and no injuries have been reported. Brunswick County Fire Marshal will investigate the fire's cause.
