On Sunday morning, firefighters put out a brush fire on Edmount Island, Lake Ballinger, covering a 25x25ft area of peat and other brush. Two boats and a floating water pump were used for hose lines, and hand tools were employed to cut vegetation and create a fire line, with no injuries reported. Smoke was expected to remain visible for several hours.
