100-year-old letters of Everest climber George Mallory digitized by Magdalene College, Cambridge, revealing insights into his life, WWI experiences, and 1924 summit attempt.

100-year-old letters of Everest climber George Mallory have been digitized for the first time by Magdalene College at the University of Cambridge. The letters, written between 1914 and 1924, were exchanged between Mallory and his wife Ruth. These letters shed light on Mallory's life, experiences during the First World War, and his final summit attempt in 1924. His body was found in 1999, 75 years after he disappeared on Mount Everest, but the letters provide a unique insight into his life and aspirations as a mountaineer.
