Rescued by helicopter and hospitalized, Vrain returned to the summit a year later, celebrating his survival and learning new lessons about the mountain's challenges. After an initial 24-hour ordeal alone with no supplies and a back injury, Vrain was rescued by the Comox Valley Ground Search and Rescue team, transforming his relationship with the mountain.
