The remains of British mountaineer Andrew "Sandy" Irvine, who vanished in 1924 while attempting to summit Mount Everest with George Mallory, have been discovered on the Central Rongbuk Glacier. A boot and sock labeled "A.C. Irvine" were found by a team led by filmmaker Jimmy Chin, marking the first potential evidence of Irvine's fate. His family plans to conduct DNA tests for confirmation. Mallory's remains were previously found in 1999.
