China's railway operator announces the CR450 bullet train, a new high-speed train model with a top speed of 400 km/h, expected to be produced later this year. The CR450 is 12% lighter and consumes 20% less energy than the current CR400 Fuxing trains, which operate at 350 km/h. The project also involves infrastructure improvements for high-speed railways, bridges, and tunnels. China's high-speed railway network, the largest in the world, has exceeded 45,000 km in operation.
