China plans to establish a coal capacity reserve system by 2027, aiming for 300 million tonnes by 2030.
China plans to establish a coal capacity reserve system by 2027 to secure energy security through more flexible coal supplies. By 2030, the country aims to achieve a yearly coal capacity reserve of 300 million tonnes that are dispatchable. This will help improve the capacity and flexibility of coal supplies and enable the rapid release of coal production capacity during extreme situations, such as market volatility, adverse weather conditions, and supply and demand fluctuations.
