Nigeria's NAFDAC recalls Johnson & Johnson's Benylin Paediatric cough syrup due to toxic substance.

Nigeria's health regulator NAFDAC recalls a batch of Johnson & Johnson children's cough syrup Benylin Paediatric due to high levels of toxic substance diethylene glycol. The syrup was found to cause acute oral toxicity in laboratory animals and is used to treat cough and congestion-related symptoms, hay fever, and other allergic reactions in children aged two to 12. NAFDAC advises the public to return and not use the affected batch which expired in April.
