The Department of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Indian Coast Guard, and Customs Preventive Unit (CPU) jointly seized 4.9 kg of foreign-origin gold worth Rs 3.43 crore during a mid-sea operation off Vedhalai coast in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu. The smuggled gold bars were being transported from Sri Lanka using a fishing boat. Three suspects were arrested in connection with the seizure.
