Metropolitan Police officer PC Mahad Abdalla charged with off-duty strangulation and assault.
A serving Metropolitan Police officer, PC Mahad Abdalla, has been charged with strangling and assaulting a woman while off-duty. He was arrested following an incident on Saturday involving a woman known to him. He was charged the next day with "non-fatal strangulation and assault" and will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday. PC Abdalla has been suspended from duties, and a woman has been safeguarded.
