PC Jake Cummings, a Metropolitan Police officer, has been charged with rape, stalking, controlling and coercive behavior, and possession of an offensive weapon. The charges follow an investigation by Hertfordshire Police and relate to a single victim. Cummings appeared in custody at Hatfield Magistrates' Court and was remanded in custody to appear at St Albans Crown Court on March 26. The officer has been suspended from duty and the Metropolitan Police's Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed.
