An Ontario police officer, Jeffry Szijarto, faces assault charges for causing bodily harm to a 40-year-old man in Trenton after an altercation.
An Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer has been charged with assault causing bodily harm in relation to serious injuries sustained by a 40-year-old man in Trenton, Ontario, last year. The charges follow an altercation between the officer and the man after the officer found the individual urinating outside a bank and handcuffed him. The man was subsequently hospitalized with serious injuries. OPP Const. Jeffry Szijarto is scheduled to appear in court on July 25.
