ABB and Salt X sign agreement to develop Electric Arc Calcination (EAC) technology for decarbonizing industries.

ABB and Salt X, both known for electrifying emission-intensive industries, have signed an agreement to further develop Electric Arc Calcination (EAC) technology. Under the agreement, ABB will become a minority shareholder in Salt X and contribute automation and electrification technology and expertise. EAC technology reinvents industrial calcination with renewable electricity and carbon capture during heating, which could help decarbonize industries such as cement production.
