Anambra State Police Command rescued four kidnap victims and intercepted a kidnapping gang during a shootout in Orumba North Local Government Area. Police operatives, along with local vigilantes, encountered the gang as they tried to flee the state with their hostages. Two vehicles used by the kidnappers were demobilized in the ensuing firefight, while some gang members escaped with injuries. One pump action gun was recovered at the scene.
