John Schmid was sentenced to 11 to 16.5 years in prison for aggravated burglary, felonious assault, two misdemeanor assaults, and attempted trespass into habitation. Schmid crashed his car into a home on Cedarwood Drive in Bath Township, then tried to break into a neighboring home before assaulting an elderly couple, seriously injuring the husband. A neighbor intervened, and police arrived to subdue Schmid.
