Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) expects lower electricity generation charges for March, primarily due to the resumption of operations of the San Buenaventura power plant and lower Wholesale Electricity Spot Market prices. The potential decline in generation charges could help temper the anticipated increase in transmission charges. Last month, Meralco implemented a P0.5738/kWh increase in its rates due to higher generation charges.
